Living Book Lists

In 2019, we realized how much we enjoyed learning history alongside our children in school. The living books in Ambleside Online enlivened our imaginations and made history easy to remember.

We began working on creating living book lists for adults. We wanted to find those good, engaging books–the living books–for adults.

We spent a year-and-a-half preparing our first book list. Now we have so many other ideas for living books lists up our sleeves!

This is our way of giving back to the homeschooling, Charlotte Mason community.

Women’s Book List

There are many heroic women throughout history, and this book list introduces you to some of them. The lives of the women on this list will encourage and inspire you.

1900s Living Books List

This book provides an overview of events from the 1900s. This list is by no means exhaustive! But it has some engaging, living books that bring history to life. From a great white shark off the East Coast of the U.S., to the building of the atomic bomb, to firsthand account of September 11, this booklist has a book for everyone.
